The movie was decent. But it should have been three episodes instead. The series is better.

You are right though, it is nice to see the Star Wars universe filled out with events between the movies.

Here is my take on the whole first season (with pics) if you are interested:

I don't think it's "stupid." I mean, he's in this discussion to begin with, which means something. But he definitely didn't have enough power, and for all his defense, he was a first baseman. And he played just about all of his career in a hitting era. He was great, but so are all of these guys. I just don't think he was great enough.

I agree that olerud may fall short of the hall of fame but he does deserve some recognition. He is top 50 all time in doubles, walks and on base percentage. To say that he is obviously not a hall of famer is stupid.

Now wait a minute, Michael M. The fact you mention are both true, and the reason we are having this discussion in the first place. Smoltz was indeed great as both a starter and reliever. However, don't go thinking that Smoltz was Tom Glavine. Glavine won 20 games five times. Glavine won two Cy Young Awards and was demonstrably better than Smoltz in several other seasons. And he wasn't so terrible in the postseason - remember 1995, the year the Braves actually won? Smoltz has been brilliant in the postseason, but let's not confuse quantity with quality.

That said, since this was written, Smoltz has enjoyed an excellent 2007 season, and has probably put himself in position to be a Hall of Famer.

Smoltz is just as worthy of the hall of fame as Tom Glavine and Dennis Eckersley. He wins 24 games and the cy young in 1996, becomes one of the best relievers in baseball from 2001 to 2004, and then returns to being a staff ace. And no one's been better in the postseason

John Smoltz is unlike any other pitcher in the game, from the past, the present, and probably the future, I don't think I remember anyone saying everything he's done, they all mention a few things, but not all, so I want to do that now, or at least what I can remember off the top off my head, but I'll probably forget alot, to say there are quite a few would be an understatement, and some of these may not have anything to do with him making it, but they are just extra facts for the ones that didn't already know, now you will. He was part of arguably the best trio rotation in the history of the game, has played his entire career with one team, he has a 15-4 record in postseason, the best record in history for the playoffs, 202 career wins so far, 154 saves, the 1st pitcher ever to win 200 games with 150+ saves, from 2001-2004 he made the unselfish move of going from a starter to a closer to help his team, where he never got any less than 44 saves, in 2002, he got the Rolaids relief award for an NL record 55 saves, has one the Cy Young once, 8 All Star appearances, was part of a record 14 straight division titles, and is the only player to experience every year of that streak, Pitched 3 game 7's, 2 were wins, A great christian man, a generous person, who has won awards for his generosity, and started campaigns to help those less fortunate, and spends time helping kids learn the fundmentals of the great game of baseball, The Roberto Clemente award, he is about 136 k's away from 3000 k's, had a 24-8 season in 1996, a lifetime average of 2.65, helped lead his team to become one of very few other teams to bounce back from a 3-1 deficit in the playoffs and win in 1996 against the Cardinals, after winning game 1 4-2 behind his arm, the Braves lost 3 straight games, with their backs against the wall, John Smoltz pitched a 14-0 shutout, going 7 or 8 innings only allowing 7 hits while the Braves got an LCS record 22, which was the turning point in the series in favor of Atlanta, making him the only pitcher to win more than one game in that series, A World Series Ring from 1995, there are some things I'm forgetting, but all that I mentioned is more than enough for him to make the Hall of Fame.
